Nanjing Acon Analysis and Testing Center is located in the Chemical Industry Park of Jiangbei New District, Nanjing. It was established by Jiangsu Acon Biomedical R&D Co., Ltd. and serves as a window to provide analytical testing technical services to the public. Since its establishment, the testing center has continuously developed and improved, adhering to industry-standard analytical testing laboratories and the operational philosophy of "impartial behavior, scientific methods, accurate data, and efficient service" to offer professional and efficient technical services to all sectors of society.

Our testing center is currently equipped with advanced domestic high-resolution 400M automated nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometers, Agilent LC-MS, GC-MS, high-performance liquid chromatography, gas chromatography, and a series of other large-scale analytical instruments. Here, we have a high-quality management team and an experienced technical team. Guided by the goal of meeting customer needs, we continuously provide effective solutions and consistent services using updated industry standards and technical methods.

Residue on Ignition - Ash

Ash refers to inorganic substances, which can be residues after calcination or remaining substances after drying. However, ash must be the solid part of a substance, not the gaseous or liquid part. At high temperatures, a series of physical and chemical changes occur. Eventually, the organic components volatilize and dissipate, while the inorganic components (mainly inorganic salts and oxides) remain. These residues are called ash.

Unless otherwise specified, this test is performed in accordance with the Chinese Pharmacopoeia 2020 Edition, Part IV - 2302 testing standard.

After organic drugs are carbonized or inorganic drugs are decomposed by heating, they are moistened with sulfuric acid and ignited first at low temperature and then at high temperature (700~800°C) until completely ashed. The organic matter decomposes and volatilizes, and the remaining non-volatile inorganic impurities (mostly metal oxides or inorganic salts) become sulfates, which are referred to as residue on ignition.

Unless otherwise specified, this test is performed in accordance with the Chinese Pharmacopoeia 2020 Edition, Part IV - 0841 testing standard.
